However, I wouldn&#039;t make the kind of blanket statements you&#039;re making here.I think it&#039;s possible to have a high-quality blog that makes and inspires valuable contributions to the public conversaton, *and* for that blog be profitable in its own right.That is, I don&#039;t believe that having a profit motive inherently kills quality and value. You&#039;re right, often it does have that effect. Especially because for-profit blog networks often focus on quantity and search engine optimization (SEO) rather than quality, conversation, and relationship-building.Still, I do think there&#039;s hope for blogs that are intended to be directly for-profit.
