long live, dead 2.0 – although i think it’s only a matter of time before his identity is disclosed. nik has started the process, and although i also think he did the right thing by not telling the world’s dead 2.0′s identity, you can be sure that someone else to finish “the job”. i hope it doesn’t mean dead 2.0 will disappear.

Nic, I’m only stating the facts as I understand them. I made it a point to say that your post covered other stuff and that you did not disclose the guy’s name.I almost said that I suspect Mike took your post and unilaterally used it as a springboard for bashing that guy, merely because that guy has been critical of Mike and the whole Web 2.0 business. But I didn’t because I don’t know what happened behind the scenes, and it is not unreasonable, under the circumstances, to assume that you and Mike are communicating.I have no issues with your post, standing alone.My problem is with Mike’s post, for the reasons I stated- only a minor one of them being his rumored relationship with you w/r/t the rumored new blog.

What I didn’t wasn’t done for Mike or for anybody else, I actually think D2.0 was much less critical of Mike than what 100 other blogs and valleywag are.If Mike does know who he is, then he didn’t find out from me. I stand by what I said on my own blog.You are trying to put two things together (by hinting at it) that don’t exist

I’m not so quick to say ‘it doesn’t matter who you are’. If the blog provided good information but not heavily personalized and subjective content I wouldn’t really care. But when you start personally criticizing someone I think having your own name behind it lends a lot more import to your statements. It’s not mandatory of course, but just a smarter move in my book.
