Perhaps I don't, but what I do understand is that of all the real world business people I know (and I do know a fair amount of those), none of them would understand why Twitter is so great or have the slightest idea how to use it to make their lives easier or more efficient. Almost all of them would at least say that calling a number on your cell phone, speaking a message and having that message transcribed and emailed to them might make their lives easier or more efficient.Think about all the apps de jour that have been buzzing around the blogosphere over the past year. How many of those have made the transition into the mainstream business world?Cool does not equal useful in the real world.

If you think Jott is a better bet than Twitter, I'm afraid that you don't understand the market very well.

I'm pretty sure it's "apps du jour".A lot of the nay-saying about Twitter mocks the tool because of the inherent narcissism of shouting from the rooftops every time you sneeze. The same criticism of blogs didn't stop them from getting big. I'd accept some sort of monetization scheme, if it didn't interfere with the core experience.I can't say where it will end up. Either way, it will be interesting to watch.
