I used to do a lot more trackingback too, but then I started using an offline editor (too many posts lost to the ether) which for some reason never sent them properly.

Re: Advertising, that costs, you know, money. Personally, I wouldn’t pay out for ads unless I could tie that activity to revenue. Is Newsome a for-profit site? Or dod you “just” want exposure? And if the latter, to what end? I ask this of everyone who I encounter who mulls over how to drum up more traffic, especially when there is no obvious profit motive. (Where “profit” is defined as anything that makes your blogging boat float.)

I forgot to mention that I agree with the 75 posts being good for growth. Everytime I’ve had a good growth spurt, that’s about what I was posting. 2-3 times a day. Short to medium (400-800 word) type of things.

I’ve done a few contests and they without fail bombed. I just don’t have the traffic or the right viewers or something. I would say that there are probably a million things to do before getting around to a contest. My 2 cents.Getting to WordPress would be great. I promise to announce your move on one of my blogs when you do.I’ve even read some stuff recently about how much easier it is getting. I think http://www.quickonlinetips.com/ has talked about moving from blogger to wordpress a few times.
