Swivel Feeds, Group 4

This is an update on my swivel feeds experiment, in which I ask bloggers I read to help me rebuild my reading list.  I've had a great response so far, and my new reading list is coming together nicely, with a diverse and interesting mix of bloggers.

Here are the swivel feeds recommendations so far from the third group.  Note that, when possible, I designate blogs by the name of the blogger, because I like to know who I'm talking to.

From Group 3 I haven't heard from Dave Winer, David Airey or Doc Searls.  From Group 2 I haven't heard from Bill Liversidge, Corey Clayton or Dave Rogers.  My general policy is to assume non-participation after 2 weeks.  Craig Newmark elected not to participate.

From Group 1, Amy Gahran, Ben Metcalfe or Ben Werdmuller did not respond and have been dropped from the swivel feeds list.  Amy gets a "sponsor's exemption," however, and remains on my reading list.  I think she may still be off the grid.

Now for the next 8 bloggers:

Donna Bogatin:  Until recently, Donna wrote for ZDNet at Digital Markets.  Now she's on her own at InsiderChatter.com.  One of my long time reads.

Eric Scalf:  My WordPress guru and a great writer on blog building and other topics. 

Ethan Johnson:  Another core blogging buddy.  He has this soccer thing going, but at least I have some understanding of soccer.  Unlike Linux and Macs and that sort of thing.

Frank Gruber:  A long time blogging buddy as well.  Frank works for AOL and writes about Web 2.0, technology and other interesting stuff.   

Frank Paynter:  I've read Frank's blog for as long as I've been reading blogs.  Highly recommended.

Fraser Kelton:  Fraser is another long-time read.  He has been blogging intermittently lately.  Maybe this will nudge him back to the keyboard. 

Fred Wilson:  Fred and I are about the same age, and share a lot of musical interests.  He's a good, thoughtful writer on a wide range of topics.

Greg Hughes:  Another long time read, Greg is an IT/security guy who writes well about various tech topics. 

That's the fourth group of bloggers I'm asking to help rebuild my reading list.  If you're willing, please recommend 5 of your favorite blogs to add to the list.  Use the comments, your blog or email, whichever you prefer.

Thanks for the mention again. And not sure if you noticed, but in a non-soccer post I managed to link to you in context. Hooray!

Here are my five:

1. Hit Coffee Will and I go way back, and his writing is probably the most underappreciated on the 'net.

2. Dennis the Peasant: Rude and crude, but the perfect antidote to slash-and-burn political blogging. Everyone gets roasted.

3. Lost...and Gine Forever: If you're watching Lost, and not reading this blog, you're not a hardcore fan. THE best unofficial Lost blog ever.

4. Fear Not the Gods: I have been meaning to write about this blog at length, but beat the rush and subscribe now while the lines are short. Very interesting take on religion through the eyes of a Jewish woman who is tasked with checking out how other religions handle community outreach.

5. Smart Bitches Who Love Trashy Novels: Not that I read any of that stuff, but why should I when this site does it for me, hilariously? Don't fear the title guys, subscribe and enjoy.

There you have it, 5 picks, no tech. Muah ha ha!

Five is so few, but the above people can keep me nourished. There are lots of people I might recommend like Shelley and Jeneane, but I know you read them anyway. ACK! I'm sorry I didn't respond. I've been so behind on my feeds, lately (I'm prepping another blog for launch), it's not even funny. Hopefully it's not too late...

Chris Doelle: Riding With the Window Down. Chris was a co-blogger when I was on MetBlog Houston's author list. He's big into podcasting, and almost always has something interesting to say.

Wil Wheaton: WWDN In Exile... Yes, he's that Wil Wheaton. Author, actor, blogger, and geek, Wil is always an interesting and well written read.

J.D. Roth: Get Rich Slowly... GRS is personal finance blog, and - in my opinion - one of the best.

Give Away of the Day... GAOTD gives away one free piece of software wach and every day. It's full version, licensed, and never expires.

Merlin Mann: 43 Folders... Merlin Mann is one of the most well known personal productivity bloggers. He's also a huge proponent of GTD, and the creator of the "Hipster PDA".

and as a bonus and apology for taking so long to respond...
Hack a Day... Hack a Day is just that... a geeky, unusual, different, or just plain strange hack... one each day. From creating a portable MP3 player in an Altoids tin, to a battery powered Tesla coil, HaD satisfies the geek in me.

Again, sorry for taking so long. Hope this makes up for it.
