Ozark Mountain Daredevils - are we all showing our age?I came across Great Lake Swimmers via Fred Wilson last year, and fell in love with the music ... will grab the new album (that term dates me too) soonest.

I can hear similarities to the OMD- a band I really liked back in the day - particularly in the arrangements and in the similarity between Tony Dekker's voice and that of the guy who sang Jackie Blue. The OMD was a band formed by songwriters, much like Area Code 615. I never saw OMD live, but I was very disappointed in this concert DVD from 1980, which I watched last weekend.I still listen to the OMD's first three records, though. Three very fine records in a row.

Nice selection...I first heard some of the Great Lake Swimmers music a few weeks ago. While listening, there were a number of times I was reminded of the old Ozark Mountain Daredevils...except more evolved.Perhaps it's only the strings and instrumentals, but I do hear similarities.
