Hi Kent,Yeah, I really don't see the point in many of the social networks that have sprung up. While I've given up on Facebook, I'll leave my account there and simply let my Twitter posts automagically update my status there. Twitter is by far a much more powerful tool for the networking I am looking to accomplish.I will admit to enjoying LinkeIn, however, and really do see much more potential for finding and building business network relationships there.Regards,Rick

I don't really use Facebook much but I don't think using it as a way to market yourself or site or business is really the way to go. I use it to keep track of a couple friends from high school/college and play a few dorky games now and then. More of the social than the networking I guess. Also, I never end up listening to podcasts more than maybe one every few months and never watch video blogs.I'm really getting into comic blogs recently where the author posts a new comic and then has some thoughts of the day, etc in the blog post.Liveblogs are fun to do when covering something like a sporting event. I've done them for a couple Hawkeye games in the past. I covered a bowl game a couple seasons back and actually had a few people that couldn't watch on TV that were following the game through my updating post. Pretty fun but a lot of work and I wouldn't do them frequently unless I had a ton of traffic and some kind of PPM ads on it.

Hi Kent, thank you for the link :) Regarding #8: "why can't a regular blog encompass all 7 of the others?"It can and sometimes does. See my description: "a collection of other types of blogging mentioned above and/or typically longer, more detailed postings ..."In the comments area Davis Freeberg made an excellent point that there were niches within the traditional blog.
