[...] While the tools will never be able to keep up with the amount of information they will help as our brains learn to deal with the data flow. I know I have a lot of readers to this blog who still subscribe by email. When I started blogging multiple times a day I noticed several of my email subscribers unsubscribed. While I’m sad to see them go I totally understand. Email is a horrible way to manage information. If you’re one of these readers please, do yourself a favor, sign up for Google Reader or Bloglines. (Here’s a great post on Google Reader.) [...]

Ed, I looked at Feedly. I want my feeds in lists and folders, like they are in Google Reader. But I could see a real benefit in using Feedly for my news (meaning news, weather, sports, etc.) feeds. I always find myself way behind on those, and Feedly would give me the ability to visually scan a page or two and be done with it. I suspect, however, that irritating headline only partial feeds would disrupt that reading just as they do normally.Dave, the screenshots look cool. When I move back to that side of my desk, I'll install it and take it for a test drive.

If you like Google Reader and are a firefox user, you might enjoy feedly: a firefox extension with integrates with Google Reader and displays its content through a magazine like interface. You can learn more about Feedly on http://www.feedly.com
