5 Days in April - Epilogue![]() April 24, 1998 I returned to Houston on Monday, April 13, 1998. When mom woke up the next day, she was having difficulty breathing. She was admitted to the hospital that morning. She spent five days in the hospital, and was taken home on April 17, 1998. On April 19, 1998, Mary Rebecca Brockington Newsome, my beloved mother, died. She was survived by one son and one daughter. She had no grandchildren. Five days later, on April 24, 1998, my first child was born in Houston, Texas. We named her Cassidy Rebecca. © 1998 Kent Newsome 5 Days in April: |
